Sette Serum Elite 10 Speed XTR Mountain Bike

If the original Serum Elite were NCC-1701, the new 30 speed version is NCC-1701-A.

For some of you, this analogy should make perfect sense. No further explanation necessary. If you're left scratching your head, the next time your favorite trails are unrideable and you're at a loss for something to do, use that time to brush up on your Star Trek lore.

Now that that's out of way, let's get to the good stuff.

The new Serum Elite uses the same fantastic 3K carbon frame as the original. In fact the parts kit remains the exact same save for one major detail- the drive train now features Shimano's latest XTR component group. The addition of a 10th cog will completely revolutionize the way you shift. Shimano calls it Dyna-Sys but think of it as a Transwarp Drive for you bike. Mountain bike shifting has never been quicker and more precise while the gear range has never been more useable.

Rounding out the parts kit is a selection of components that epitomize light weight durability. Mavic CrossMax ST wheels, Avid Elixir disc brakes and a Truvativ cockpit are among the highlights.

In a size 19" and pedals the new Serum Elite tips the scale at 21 lbs even. That's nearly a 1/2 pound savings over the original.
