Sette Serum Race SLX Carbon Mountain Bike

It wasn't all that long ago that the magic number for an ultra light XC hardtail was 23lbs. Getting a bike that light often meant personal sacrifice such as moving back home with your parents or selling off excess bodily fluids so that such exotic parts could be afforded.

Fast forward a few years and it boggles the mind to think that Sette's "entry level" carbon hard tail tips the scales at 23.5lbs (size 19, sans pedals).

Entry level was put into quotations up there because the Serum Race is anything but.

Using the same 3K carbon frame as its Elite and Pro brethren, the Serum Race is outfitted with a component kit that keeps performance to value factor as high as possible. Starting with the same Fox 32 F100 RL fork as the Serum Pro, the Race model uses a full Shimano SLX drive train with Avid Elixir 5 disc brakes and a Mavic Crossride wheelset.

The end result is a bike that's more than light enough to race and durable enough for the long haul without requiring a move back in to your childhood bedroom.
