These chain pins are specific to Shimano 9 speed chains and will work with either the road or mountain variety so don't fret about putting a Durache part on your rig, dear mountain biker. As the name suggests, these pins are for Shimano chains only and we can't stress enough that you don't want to attempt to install these on any other type of chain.
There are five pins to a set so there's a couple to keep in the tool box, a couple to lose and one to keep in your pack that will become your instant best friend should you ever need to use it.
