Shimano M162 Mountain Shoe
The new M162 is aimed at the "all mountain" market which means they are just about spot on for anyone that likes long trail rides with cafe stops through to people smashing themselves down Alpine drops.
As stated on the title, these shoes are "all arounders" They are sturdy enough for DH/Enduro rides and soles are stiff for those long XC 50 miler days. As for durability, I've had my m162's for 3 years now and it's been holing quite well for it's age. I expect them to last for another or so before getting another pair. And yes even if they are not on sale, I would still get them. Highly recommended!
I like these shoes for multiple reasons. They are very comfortable with the larger toe box. I prefer Shimano's racheting over several others, as it is more durable, and the shape of it seems to avoid damage when falling. They are comfortable and grippy to walk in, which we all unfortunately have to do from time to time.
