Q: Will it fit a 9 speed cassette?
A: This rear derailleur is intended for 10 speed only because of the cable pull difference from the 9 to 10 shifters.
This thing sports circa 2011 XTR level quality at an insanely low price, it's boggling how quickly Shimano trickles their tech down to the lower level products. If you're looking for a cheap upgrade, this is a no-brainer.
Shimano derailers always have a smooth shift to them. I ride a Giant Trance and chain slap is minimal due to their superior suspension design and with the shadow +.feature chain slap is all but eliminated. You can't go wrong with this derailer!!
