Shimano Ultegra 6500 9-Speed Cassette

Continuing advances in human engineering technology stand behind road components that provide racing, sport and fitness cyclists with higher levels of control & response. Ultegra components use the advanced functions of Dura-Ace including Hollowtech 2 and refined ergonomic shifters. The more affordable Ultegra simply can't be matched.

Computer designed Hyperglide (HG) sprockets incorporate specifically positioned shift ramps and tooth profiles for improved chain control during shifting. Fast and responsive indexed shifting is the result.

Shimano Ultegra 6500 9-Speed Cassette delivers fast, quiet and smooth shifts.

My spare [rainy day] bike still uses 9spd drivetrain, and this HG70 (Ultegra) was the most suitable replacement. You can try and save money using the cheaper HG50 (105) cassette, but changes are you will regret it. Why? This HG70 version has the larger cogs mounted onto a spider assembly, which prevents damage to your freehub body when mounted. The cheaper HG50 version just utilizes individual cogs separated with spacers, and on softer aluminum or titanium freehub bodies, they 'dig in' and can damage them. Another advantage of being mounted on an aluminum spider is it's aa lighter cassette and stiffer (less ring distortion) for better shifting performance. A great part to ensure your 9spd keeps running solid. 5/5 stars.
