PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Shimano Ultegra 6701 10 Speed Chain 116 Links

There is only one real differences between the Ultegra 6701 and Dura Ace 7901 chain. The 7901 chain has hollowed out pins to further reduce weight. If that's something you can live without then look no further. The Ultegra chain has been designed for smooth shifting even under extreme load. Improved durability, silent pedaling, and less chance of chain drop are all things to look forward to. The inner plate is perforated to drop weight. The 6701 chain is asymmetrical, with each side playing its own role to increase overall performance.

  • 10 speed
  • New shaped outer plate improves chain release from outer ring to inner ring
  • New shaped perforated inner plate to reduce weight
  • Enhanced press-in pin construction is durable and quiet
  • Weight 272g

I usually get between 500 and 1000 miles from this chain. I'm riding a Truvativ Elita triple front with a 105 12-25 rear (10) and an ultegra 6600 front and rear derailleurs. My usage is probably a low mileage case because I cross the chain regularly using all of the gears typically changing out the chain twice per riding season. Rain riding is rare. I clean and lube probably every 100-200 miles. I'm not that guy who pulls the chain to clean and hot wax after every ride. If you are a "proper" rider with a double and you don't cross the chain, it should go for probably double the distance if you stay out of the rain and keep it clean and lubed.
