As Mountain bikes continue to become more diverse, components must evolve. Shimano Deore XT addresses the various needs of today's riders. Shimano's XT M770 Cassette features 9 speeds, a wide range of gears to accommodate the steepest terrain and increased stiffness from its redesigned aluminum carrier.

I rate it average since I've replaced this unit a couple of times. Seems to last roughly a year each time.
Smooth shifting and bulletproof. Great upgrade for my old hardtail. Nothing to complain about with Shimano cassettes.
Before last year, this would have been 3 or 4 stars, a cheap alternative to xtr. The second ring of mine got bent after a couple of weeks, I tried to fix it and it now looks straight but the shifting doesn't seems to work on the second and third gear, I work in a shop so this is not an adjustment problem, after it is bent, there is no way to bring it back. This is the reason I switched to sram pg-990 I am not going back to shimano, a bit heavier on paper, however the shifting is flawless, better than the shimano.
Switching to a 11-34 cassette is a game changer for a 9 speed Set up. Climbs like a mountain goat. Plus No chips or broken teeth in two years! XT is totally worth it.
I've been riding this cassette for 5 years on my all mountain, and so far it's been good. Some visible wear on the 13 tooth ring, but that's the gear I use most often. Not enough that I can notice any change in shifting performance. Great value!
Highly recommend the xt m770. Super tough at an inexpensive price. The cassette has been amazingly durable all season. I highly recommend this if your looking for a great cassette at a great price
