661 Riot Elbow Guards
661's slim-fit design is small and thin allowing riders to wear it under pants, jerseys, and gloves. The abrasion-resistant materials and forms developed to withstand scuffs and scrapes with minimal wear.
Not the most comfortable but they are priced good and will protect your elbows well if you go down. I suggest wearing a long sleeve shirt under them because, like mentioned in another review, the Velcro straps slide off the little neoprene under straps they are supposed to ride on and dig the heck out of your skin in the pit of your elbows. 3 stars for comfort, other than that they do their job at protecting you.
I've been a XC biker for many years and always thought elbow and knee pads were for downhillers. After one to many crashes, I got real tired of not being to bend my elbow after a crash which really puts a damper on the beer drinking. These were affordable an comfortable. John says get these, your elbows will thank you.
I recieved these and they fit fine. They are a bit hard, so its not going to give you the movement you'd get riding without them. However I would take that since the padding looks like it will save my elbows.
I bought these last season and while they provide excellent protection, they are extremely uncomfortable. There is a large hole in between the straps on the inside of the pads. Initially, before you attach the velcro straps, the pads are pretty comfortable, but when you strap the pads on you lose pretty much all maneuverability. The velcro straps slip off the straps that hold the pad on and rub against and pinch the inside crease of your elbow causing scrapes and weird bruising on the sensitive skin. They do provide good protection, but the lack of comfort has me looking elsewhere...
