Stan's Universal Presta Valve Stem

Possibly the most important and most often overlooked safety equipment in a tire are the valve stems. Valves help keep the air in the tires and create an airtight seal. Stan's Presta Universal Valve stems are compatible with BST models as well as various tubeless models. Removable valve core makes adding sealant easy. Fits up to 8mm valve hole.

Are there any others? - Jun 11, 2014

If there are any other options I doubt the threads are this clean just look at your tubes and compare the valve stems. There is a reason these cost more than a pair of tubes clean threads and the core seems to thread in and out more easily than tubes.

Worked well until they glued themselves together - Apr 30, 2014

I used these for a season and they were great for the first or second fill-ups. After that, the cores welded/glued themselves to the stems and they were useless. Unscrewing them became near impossible without taking them out of the rim. YMMV.

I have used these and other brands with success. I like these because they have a removable core. This is nice as you can then just remove the core to rejuice the tire as needed from time to time. Only down-side is cost but all brands are spendy.

Had to use a small piece of tube as a doughnut around one of these in order to get a good seal. Other brands are about the same.

Put sealant on the rubber when installing - Apr 09, 2014

Unlike Kyle, my stems leaked. I used a small round file to cut the Stan's Rim Tape out of the hole and put a little bit of sealant on the rubber before putting it in the hole. It sealed up perfect the second time around.

Have tried other brands and never got a good seal. Finally put these in, sealed first time and have had no issues. You get what you pay for.
