Sun Ringle Black Flag Expert 26 Inch Tubeless MTB Wheelset

Sun Ringle and Stan's No Tubes have joined forces like the Super Friends to create a line of wheels that combine the legendary prowess of Sun Ringle's hubs with the amazing technological advantage of using a Stan's rim.

The Black Flag series is considered a cross country race wheelset but 24 front and rear spokes mean the wheels will hold up for general trail riding as well.

The Black Flag Expert wheelset is disc-brake only and uses standard quick releases. It is not designed to be converted to work with thru-axle forks.

  • Everything you need to run tubeless is included
  • Rims are taped and include sealant for two wheels
  • Valve stems are included

axle too light - Apr 03, 2014

A nice light wheel set. The tubeless option makes them even lighter. However the the rear axle doesn't seem to be able to take the abuse. I weigh approx 175lbs and carry probably 15lbs of equipment when I ride. I ride a 6 and 6 rocky slayer and do North shore (Vancouver) cross country. Lots of long climbs and rugged descents but no jumps. I got the wheel last summer and I'm now trying to replace the axle for the second time. I have standard drop out with skewer set up and the axle broke in the same place both times. Also my local bike shop can't source the axle because they say it is an OEM wheel with a non standard axle. The front wheel is great except the QR20 adapters just fall off when the wheel is out of the fork.
