The Type S Lock-On Grips feature a knurled design that offers excellent grip. They are the solution to all of your grip problems. You will never need to worry about your grips twisting even in the worst of conditions. These grips can also be installed and removed an unlimited number of times in only a few seconds thanks to the special lock-on design. Two small alloy rings, fixed by a threaded Allen bolt secure the grip to the bar ensuring a twist-free riding experience. To clean up the ends and provide extra safety the grips are supplied with a locking end plug.
i took a spill and one of the grips tore pretty good. So they did not fare well in a crash.
A very good minimalistic pair of grips; locks on solid and supplies plenty of grip both wet and dry. Lasts for multiple years, and inexpensive enough to be replaced painlessly. I've had 2 of these grips in the past 5 years, they are the only grips I've had on my bike.
Yes, these cover the bars. No, they're not good grips. They aren't particularly grippy. The rubber compound also started to wear significantly even after a couple rides. By about the 4th or 5th ride, they were bald in spots, which has taken other grips several months of rides to wear similarly. Pass on these. You'll need to replace them sooner, so just buy a legit pair of grips.
Just a simple functional grip at an amazing price. Just don't over tighten the end plug. I pulled the screw through the hole and had a hell of a time trying to get it back out. Once I got it out and put it back on with just enough torque it stays on wonderfully.
Bought these for my wife's bike. They grip really well and feel solid. They are not plush if that's what you're looking for but they give great feedback and are perfect for her. Excellent value for a lock-on grip.
These are my first clamp on grips and I'm hooked. These are perfect for a medium to large hands and for have a good balance between firmness and wear. I'm tough on grips and these have a medium wear life. With a simple rotation you can have fresh grip again. Well, until you rotate them out. Will buy again!!!
If you prefer smaller grips, these could be the ones for you. The red is a nice rich red. Since they have less rubber than Ourys, they have a smaller diameter and have less "give", but like others have said, you will get more feedback from terrain. I personally like the end caps on these more than Ourys. They lock tight and don't move. Only knock...they don't last very long compared to Ourys. The time they did last for me, they were great and I have since gone back to Ourys but I would definitely consider getting another pair.
These are firm grips and feel very solid on your bars so make sure you are okay with that before buying. You are going to be feeling those bumps more than a softer and thicker grip. Wear is pretty normal. Without gloves you are going to finish your ride with some rubber on your palms. The locking end caps are nice and sturdier than the average plugs. These would be awesome if they came in different firmness options.
Great Grips, they last, and are very comfortable.
Finally caught up with the pack on locking grips, this solves the great annoyance of constantly readjusting them. These grips are very-nicely constructed and look great, and are a fantastic value at the sale price!
For the price, these are great. If your looking for a soft cushion feel, these are not for you. Easy to install and will provide a lot of life on the trails.
Great grips at a great price
For an inexpensive grip, these did the trick. Thin and grippy. Easy to install/remove.
I saw these grips on clearance and figured they were worth a shot. I was very happy with my purchase, they are nice and grippy and don't twist when landing jumps like my traditional grips. I also like the fact that these can be quickly removed for brake and shifter work!
love these grips but be sure your handle bars are long enough for these grips. I had to cut off about an inch off the grips so that they would fit my bars.
Great grips for the money. The locking works perfectly, never had any slip. The one thing I will say is that they do wear relatively quickly. If you don't mind spending 10 bucks on a nice grip a couple times a year, these are the way to go.
These grips are great ridden them with and without gloves and they dont chew the hands or gloves up. Nice and tacky feel to them plus the raised locking rings keep your hands from getting too far outside if some how your hands do slip. They look great got yellow to add a little color to the bike and for $10 I am stoked on the new look.
I was concerned about these grips the first time I bought them because they were cheap for Lock-on grips, but after my first set, I bought 3 more for the rest of my bikes. I love these grips. I'm about to replace 1 set on my mountain bike because they are wearing down, but that was after just over 2 years of riding.
These grips are great. I will be picking a few more sets for all my bikes.
Inexpensive but very effective. I don't see why anyone would spend more money on other grips.
These grips are super affordable compared to other top-tier brands and offer comparable performance. I would still recommend a good glove as these grips offer minimal padding and get slick when the sweat builds up ... especially in the humid southern states. After a few months of use, I've found that the light knurled pattern wears to a smooth surface. I simply rotated the grip to get more pattern life, but with gloves and the sticky rubber compound used on these grips - I haven't had a major issue. While the grips install easily, the end plugs may require some light convincing from a rubber mallet. In my case they were a tight fit, but your experience may vary. TL;DR - Buy a couple sets, they'll wear but remain grippy with the use of gloves.
These grips have a good combination on grip and cushion.
These grips were easy to install and seem like they are very well made would recomend them to anyone.
i upgraded from the factory DB grips that come on my db recoil. after installing these i noticed they r smaller in diameter then the factory ones. however i actually like the smaller grip. my hands dont fatigue like they used too. A+ from sette for making such a great priced and well thought out grip.
I bought these and a set of Lizard Skins to compare. The Type S grips were easier to install than the Lizard Skins and any other brand I've ever dealt with. The lockrings slide onto the grip VERY easily. There's no prying, stretching or elbow grease needed at all. The small knobs of the grips are very comfortable and grippy - they grab onto you even better with gloves, although gloves are not necessary. What I especially like about this application is the lock on end caps! The lock on end caps slide in without any effort needed and bolt on very securely!
Bang for your buck wise these are the cream of the crop, can't go wrong for the price. Easy to install and the grip is amazballs!
