Thomson Elite Remote Dropper Seatpost

Thomson Elite Remote Dropper Seatpost

Over the years the Thomson name has become synonymous with strong, light weight, set-it-and-forget-it seatposts. Sort of like the sun coming up, tried and true, your Thomson seatpost was always something you could count on. Then the dropper post came along and stole its thunder...

Well Thomson is back with their Elite Dropper Seatpost! Knowing how reliable their original post is, they didn't try and completely reinvent the wheel. Their side mount actuation mechanism design means they were able to keep all the critical dimensions of the Thomson Elite cradle, bolt and clamp geometry. They also designed it with a one piece forged inner post for strength and reliability; no joint to loosen and fail. Actuation is by cam so the rider gets smooth, variable speed and height without resorting to a complicated, damage prone hydraulic actuator; no bleeding required. And with the attention to detail you'd expect from Thomson, the return speed is damped in the last 15mm of upward travel to be gentle on your seating area!

For those of you who have been in a funk since you switched to another brand just to get the benefits of a dropper, it's time to put your Thomson post back on.

  • 5 inches/125mm of infinite travel
  • 5mm of setback
  • 400mm length
  • Aluminum construction
  • The smallest most ergonomic remote lever available
  • Short throw lever for quick height changes.
  • 592 grams including remote lever, housing and cable

This Thomson dropper post adds great flexibility and comfort to any mountain bike, but you can do even better with a new saddle! Check out our selection of mountain saddles to top your Thomspon Elite!

Been running this for a year now. No issues. The cable was initially a little short, but Thomson has longer ones available. Highly recommend.

The Thomson dropper is a pretty solid piece of gear. It installed easily and had zero issues having everything come together. The lever is small and fits perfectly between the brake lever and grip. There is a small bit of play, but it is very minor and not evident during riding. The price is a bit steep, but worth the quality that is associated with Thomson products!
