Time ATAC Alium Pedals
Resembling Time's Carbon Fiber ATAC pedal in every aspect but materials, the Alum model is light, sturdy and affordable. The proven ATAC dual-arch retention system guarantees easy engagement and dependable release in all conditions. The Time ATAC Alium Pedals features exceptional mud clearing ability, both angular and lateral float, ample double-sided platform, steel axle and low spring tension.
I've used one set of these pedals on my last two bikes over four years and they're bullet proof. Always consistent release but never release unexpectedly. They are a little heavy but a great value overall.
I have ridden the ATAC Aliums for three years now and have loved them. They are sturdy with easy in/out features. They are a solid entry level pedal for those looking for an inexpensive pedal to start clipping into and who are not weight weenies, b/c these are a little on the heavy side. Pros: Rock solid entry level pedal, bombproof, simple design with release from both angles, durable, inexpensive Cons: A little heavy, no tension adjustment Buy these if: you are a newbie to clipping in and value ease, durability and price over weight.
I purchased these pedals from Pricepoint for my wife and I as our first sets of clip less pedals. They are simple to learn on for beginners, have a nice platform for when you are not quite clipped in yet and lasted for more than 10 years with extensive use. Purchasing from Pricepoint I was able to purchase two pairs for approximately the same amount one pair would have cost at the local bike shop. I still extensively use the local bike shops, but Pricepoint often has items the local bike shops don't carry.
These pedals are great. You can't beat the price and they are extremely durable. Mine look mostly silver now due to being beat up, but I'm sure they will keep performing for many years to come.
Been riding these for over 10 years. Came from Shimanos because of the poor Shimano mud performance. Have never looked back. I have had them disengage occasionally on a big pedal strike but that is usually an indication that it is time for new cleats. I recommend these to all people looking to clip-in.
Super light and durable pedals. I have also ridden the crank brother pedals and prefer these by far. Tons of float and never have an issue get in or out of them.
When I got back into mountain biking, my first brand new Mt. bike came with Time ATAC's and I still have them over 10 years later. When I saw these on sale I had to get them for a back-up pair which are now on my new, new Mt. bike. I've tried SPD's & Crank Bros (snapped a Candy spindle) and they just don't compare to the solid quality and reliability of the Time's.
I have broken 3 sets of pedals in the last few years. I do not think I can break these. They are burly. Though they are on the heavy side, they have doors up to intense pedal strikes. They are exceptional easy to enter and release compared to spd type pedals.
I bought these as my first pair of clipless pedals and I couldn't be happier. They were great to learn on and have been very durable. I was recommended these pedals for their indestructibleness and I would recommend them for anyone getting their first pair of clipless pedals.
I love these pedals. Switched over from eggbeaters after I heard a couple people tell me how indestructible these are. I found these easier to get into than the eggbeaters and felt more in control during my rides.
I only ride Time pedals because I like the float. These pedals are pretty heavy, but they work good in all conditions. I just did a gravel road race two weeks ago and conditions were very very muddy. A few times I had to walk and I was able to clip right back in with no issues. So, if you are a gram counter go with the lighter versions, but if not....for the price...you can't go wrong.
Awesome Pedal. Since its an entry level from Time its a bit in the heavier side. But its incredible durable and shred mud better then the egg beaters. Way more durable. Recommend!
I switched to these after using Crank Brothers and love the Time interface much more. I feel more connected with the Times and don't rip my cleats out every time I yank my foot straight up real hard. Also, the durability it quite impressive. The rocky trails around here destroyed two sets of eggbeaters but these take the punishment like a champ! A little heavy for the racing crowd but I'd like to try some Time carbon pedals when I get the $!
Great pedal, yes not for an ultra weight conscious rider but bombproof and cost effective. Replaced the last set of these I bought 8 yrs ago, so they last and I am a big guy, 200lbs. Great product.
Excellent Mtn bike pedal. Great float, fantastic price, and very durable. I have broken several hubs, bottom brakets, a frame, several wheel sets, and lots of other parts, still on the original set fo ATAC Alium Pedals.
