The proven ATAC dual-arch retention system guarantees easy engagement and dependable release in all conditions. Low spring tension of the ATAC design causes less friction in extreme conditions, and along with an optimized release angle (13° or 17°), provides consistent entry and release, allowing MTB riding with total confidence. When other pedals pre-release or jam, with ATAC you get quick and easy release when and only when you want it, no matter what the terrain may be.
I use these for both road and mtn biking. I need a pedal that has float for my knee so that had me using crankbrothers or Time. I went to crankbrother first because of the price. After multiple rebuilds and multiple pedals I needed a new perspective. I switched because everyone says they are more reliable and just last forever. I totally agree. I've bashed them on rocks, they shed mud great, and just feel more durable in general. They float just enough but not that 'on ice' feel that CB has. You can also adjust the tension to your exact liking. Overall very happy; really wouldn't change a thing.
