Time Roc Atac Clipless Pedals
The Time ROC ATAC Pedals features the ATAC system which stands for Auto Tension Adjustment Concept, which means foot retention is independent from spring tension. The Time Roc Atac Pedals is constructed with a steel axle and composite body and has +/- 5 degrees of angular float and 6mm of lateral float.
I recently purchased these for my other mountain bike (already have the Alums on my hard tail). They really are approximately 50% less expensive than the LBS allowing me to have a set on both bikes. Much more convenient than moving pedals back and forth from bike to bike. I still utilize the local bike shop, but, I can't argue with a savings of 50%.
If like a lot of people you've been riding the old style composite ATACs (or Aliums) and wondered whether to go for the ROC or the XC series - these have the same rounded bars as the old pedals and feel the same (though drop a few grams compared to the old version). The other models have squared off bars and feel significantly different. Some may prefer this but I'm so used to the old style that I didn't want to adapt. As always, the best, longest lasting, maintenance-free mountain pedal.
