Truvativ Descendant GXP 83mm Crankset w/ 36t Chainring

When your eye is on the podium, there is no room for compromise.

Truvativ's downhill-race specific Descendant crank uses the same bullet-proof forged, AL7050 aluminum as the Holzfeller crank, but in a second-shaving 858g package. That's close to a half a pound lighter than their Holzfeller crank without the wallet-lightening cost of carbon!

  • 104mm BCD
  • Forged AL-7050-T6 alloy crank arms
  • 170mm and 165mm crank arm length option
  • 36T chainring
  • Steel bolts
  • GXP with new Gutter Seal Technology
  • In-house measured weight: 858g (w/ bb), 748g (w/o bb)
  • 83mm bottom bracket shell width

Good cranks, cheesy bottom bracket - May 24, 2014

The cranks are nice, but I was not a fan of their bottom bracket. The way bearing preload is set relies on a cheesy plastic insert. Mine developed play a month in that couldn't be adjusted out. However, I see tons of these working reliable on other bikes. I replaced mine with a set of Saint's, which I like so, so much better.
