If big hits and bone-jarring descents are your idea of a good time, you need a stem that can hang. Forged from super-strong 6061 alloy and capable of withstanding whatever abuses your trails dish out, Hussefelt is the stem for those who just want to forget about it and ride. This is no-brainer DH, freeride or all-mountain performance at a reasonable cost. It features a 2-bolt steerer clamp and 4-bolt handlebar clamp, plus an all-new look with updated graphics, all at a weight of just over 200g.
This stem is short and strong and cheap. Its not light, but it doesn't matter. This is probably the best way to get a short stem without spending a ton of money. I would absolutely buy it again. I think its really silly to spend a hundred bucks or whatever on a stem when this one is 30 and weighs 40 grams more or whatever, like anyone can notice that difference.
Being 5'4" and riding a medium framed bike has its challenges and rewards. With the medium frame you get a slightly longer wheelbase which lends to greater stability. But it can also be a pin in the neck, pun intended. By dropping back to a 40mm stem I both increased my steering speed for quick maneuverability and also brought the bars in close enough to help the longer frame fit me better. The stem is well made with a 42mm stack height. I think too they recommend a 4mm gap between the top of the stem and the top of the fork tube. A very solid performing stem I must add that is well worth the pennies paid.
This is a great stem, I have had it for this past season and it has been awesome, it set my ridding position noticeably back from my previous stem, which is something I will have to get used to, but overall it is great, takes hits well and preforms awesome
This stem can handle it, all of it. I have been using it for over a year and honestly I don't even think about it. It is a bit on the heavy side I suppose, but that doesn't bother me as I earn all my descents. It looks and more importantly acts the part. Probably would last a lifetime. Great bang for the buck.
