1.1 G (Single Speed): single-ring setup with aluminum bashguard
1-piece forged 7050-T6 aluminum arms with drive-side integrated CrMo GXP bottom bracket spindle for 50mm chainline
GXP (Giga X Pipe): external cup, sealed bearing bottom bracket for 68/73mm shells (GXP-Team bearing cups included)
The crank, bb, and chainring should be the least of your concerns on the trail. Before, I had a stock 3x8 setup on my Specialized Hardrock. After several years I began to look at ways to cut down the weight of my ride while adding simplicity at the same time. I knew I did not need three front chainrings. Solution, 1x10 setup all the way. After a year and nearly 1000 miles on this piece I still have no complaints.
