Vee Rubber Mission 26x2.10 Folding Tire

The Mission is for mountain bike trail riding or racing. Ramped and chisel shaped center and transition knobs set this tire apart from the others. Diamond shaped extra transition knobs provide great cornering. This tire's low profile knobs roll fast making it an excellent climber or XC race tire and work best on hard pack trails.

I'm just getting back into riding, a friend gave me a K2 to ride and it needed new tires.. Being on a budget these were my choice, and a great choice so far. I don't ride anything very challenging but so far these have provided me with a decent ride.. I wouldn't be afraid to recommend these tires.. and Price Point was great too..

So far so good - Aug 14, 2014

On a remote military base in SWA, AE

I bought 2 of these to replace worn out OEM tires on a cheap MTN bike sold at the PX. I ride the bike 11 to 15 miles a day for exercise and stress relief. The OEM tires lasted about 200 miles. As of this writing I have over 400 miles on these tires and they are holding up great. I ride on about 70% asphalt, 20% hard packed trail with gravel, 10% hard packed trail with sand. Never bought a folding bead tire before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I wouldn't use these for hard core trail riding unless the trail is very firm. These tires are not going to give good traction on a loose trail imo. I have bought a spare after buying the original set. For a daily rider I really like this tire. (PricePoint ships to military APO addresses which is nice. Thanks PP for supporting the troops)

Great tire for dry hardpack - Jun 12, 2014

henderson, NV

This is a great tire for terrain that is dry and hard. In these conditions, it is a fantastic tire. These are not for wet or loose. So if you live in the southwest, this is a very good option.

Great Value and Ride - Jun 12, 2014

Frankfort, KY

These tires have a fairly large volume for their size. They are light, fast-rolling, and supple. As others have stated, their cornering traction is not great for soft conditions but work well in mostly hard-pack or combination street use. I run a bike repair business and recommend these to my customers with cheap bikes, limited budgets, and casual riding habits. The characteristics of these tires make them a very noticeable upgrade for minimal cost.

I picked these up at the big sale. Uhh, eight bucks for tires is pretty good. I put them on my single speed bikes, not on my mountain bikes though. Good for city use.

Good fitting donuts for UST's... - Feb 12, 2014

OVERLAND PARK, KS

Vee tires are very light and portable. For this reason,I carry one as a *SPARE ONLY* on longer rides.I mounted two Vee "Speed-R's" (w/tubes!!!)on Mavic XM819 UST's to ensure proper fit. They"popped" right into place(for those of you who know that distinct sound from the bead locking while inflating UST's).After rolling,I'd have to say their best everyday application would be the street or hard-pack on lighter trails. They do have some stick, but I wouldn't try to get too aggro on 'em.They are good tires for the price,so I give 4 stars for the weight, fit, looks, and value.

I've bought (3) of these tires. They are fast rolling and fairly quiet on pavement. I use them as a front tire on one bike and F/R on the other bike. Both combinations work well for my 50/50 on/off road excursions. Profile across the tread is well-rounded for sharp cornering and traction is good, just as long as you stay out of the mud. You can't go wrong for the price. T-Bone

vee rubber mission 26" 2.1 - Sep 23, 2013

Waipahu, HI

I was expecting a wider tire. Definitely one of the slimmer 2.1 tires that I have used. I use it only as a back tire and rolls really nice but slips out every so often. The kick out is a little more predictable on this tire than on some of the more deeper studded tires that i have previously used. Overall I would not recommend this tire for someone looking for better grip. I believe this tire is suited more for entry level xc riders.

This tire is sold for hard pack riding. I wouldn't recommend it for anything. terrible traction and a surprisingly bumpy ride for such small treads. save your money and buy better tires. This is truly a case of you get what you pay for!
