The Mission is for mountain bike trail riding or racing. Ramped and chisel shaped center and transition knobs set this tire apart from the others. Diamond shaped extra transition knobs provide great cornering. This tire's low profile knobs roll fast making it an excellent climber or XC race tire and work best on hard pack trails.
Fast tire that shed mud well and corners decently. Lighter then the tire it replaced. It can slip on loose dirt or gravel when climbing out of the saddle. Didn't happen with the tire it replaced but i like the rolling resistance of the mission. Tread life maybe in issue. All in all a good tire for xc.
Great for the road. Used it a few times mtb. But seemed better on the pavement
yes, you can use tubeless, just put enough Stans in and do the 'shakey shakey shakey' after installed to make sure it gets all the imperfections out.
The title says it all. It's not my setup... My old beat up Ground Controls mounted up just fine. You get what you pay for.
These tires absolutely rail. I am running this tire tubeless (Gorilla tape tubeless, with Orange seal) on the rear. It it a super fast tire with just enough tread and control for firm to mostly firm single-track. Holds air well on non tubeless ready rim. Its a really fun tire. Nope its not going to perform well in wet, it will squirm. Nope not great over rocky terrain either.
Been riding this tire all summer. Got the first pair for $10 ea. then bought a second pair for $12 ea. Pretty amazing deal. I ride a hard tail on mostly hard pack. The tires are great for that. Fast, efficient, corner well, climb well. They are low profile, low volume. If you use them with tubes, as I do, it is wise to keep the PSI up, I run both front and rear at 40 PSI. Probably too hard for some, but anything less and pinch flat will likely occur. I got two pinch flats on the rear in the first month. Since keep the pressure up, there hasn't been problem. They are not very forgiving on bumpy, rough down hills. Looks like PP is now offering at 2.25 and 2.35 version. Those should be great for running at lower pressure. They cost a lot more though.
EXCELENTE TIRE!!!! Is the first time I buy vee rubber brand and I am amazed with the performance of this tire. I bought it for a 24hr mtb race and it didn´t disapointed me, actually it developed very well. I used 38psi, as rear tire in dry conditions, but we had a couple of mud parts in the race and the tire developed very well. I saw other racers with their tires full of mud, but not me. this is a very fast tire, I bought this because the Kenda Nevegal I had are very heavey and with this tire I droped 300grms (.66lbs). this tire starts much faster, is easier to gain speed with less effort and in single tracks made the job. In downhills they are not the best, I would change to my old Nevegal. In loose dirt it is a little bit inestable, and in corners at first I was not sure of this tire, but eventually it gain my trust. Since I installed this tire in my bike it´s been 3 times out and the race, and since that I haven´t flat tire, it performes excelente with slime tubes. the best performance was in hard trails and rock tracks. It´s the greates deal I had for my bike. Cheap tire with great performance. well done Vee Ruber!!!
Nice tire for the rear, fast rolling, relatively light and great price. Grips well on the climb in SoCal dry conditions.
I bought this tires about one month ago. This is a very strong, light and nice design. The quality is great. Niner bike used this brand in their bikes. I recomend to all to buy this tire.
Very light and fast rolling. With Stan's tubeless kit, it was easy to install and has stayed sealed over 3 weeks of riding. However, it was more unstable in the loose stuff than I predicted. If you are only riding XC and hard packed I highly recommend this. I used this as a rear tire and the Race V as the front tire. Great combo!
Great tire! Good in all around tire in all conditions.
