WD-40 Bike Dry Lube 4oz
For dry and arid riding conditions. Extensively tested by scientists and pro mechanics alike. Special polymers form a dry film to protect your chain and repel dirt in arid or dusty conditions. The result is a clean, quiet drivetrain.
I do not want to ride a bike that smells like a bro. Regardless of any performance statistics, this stuff gives me a headache. Instead of smelling sweet nature, you will feel like you are trapped in a frat house. Finish Line's dry lube works better and doesn't smell so strongly. There are even better performance options.
I wasn't impressed, I thought I would be coming from WD40. My LBS uses this stuff when they do bike tune ups so they sold me some thinking if the LBS uses and it comes from WD40 it's got to be good stuff. The lube doesn't last long, about 100 miles then you have to reapply it, kind of reminds me of the durability of drip on wax lube. So I used this lube for about 60 days to give it fair shake and now I use this lube for my SpeedSkate pedals but not the chain, I have two favorite lubes I use for the chain.
I've used wet lubes that make my chain, cassette, derailleur pulleys dirty and caked with grime. I've used nice dry lubes that give out 1 hour into a ride. This dry lube is a great compromise between being ultra dry and wet. I like it for our SoCal conditions. It also has a little of that WD-40 smell! Good stuff!
I bought this product on the recommendation of the guys at the shop where I bought my bike. I live in the High Desert of Southern California and almost all of my riding is on local hard pack dusty, rocky and sand trails. I prepped the bike by degreasing the chain and sprocket and then applied this link by link. My bike shifts quickly, smoothly and silently. After two rides I have hardly any dust or grime on my chain or gears. If you ride in a similar environment, I highly recommend this product.
