WTB Pure V Race Saddle
The goal was simple: Create a trail riding saddle that eclipsed the original WTB SST. The result features the best body-tuned shape WTB has. Hollow chromoly rails, Flex-tuned shell with Comfort Zone, synthetic cover, embroidered chrome corners.
Comfortable and good looking. The trim started wearing after about a good year of use, but I didn't care. The rails did start creaking after being in use for a little bit, but a little dry lube took care of that. Nice saddle that made me buy 2 other WTB saddles for my other bikes!
This saddle is great. At first i was skeptical. I did not think i would feel comfortable on it. But after breaking it in, i want this saddle on all my bikes!
This saddle appears to be a great race saddle, but turn it over and you will notice cheap plastic trim which made me hesitant of this seat from the beginning. Once I put it on my bike, I started hearing a creaking noise caused by the way the rails are attached to the seat. I was hoping it would go away with some break-in time but it doesn't. The first wipe out I had, one of the rails popped right out of the saddle and there was no way to get it back in. Recommendation: invest your $$$ in a better quality seat. The only positive feature about this seat is it's race appearance.
Thanks everyone for the great reviews and sharing about this gem. I have had the same seat for the last 5+ years now on my Freeride Yeti ASX and badly needed to be replaced. My last seat was very comfortable and weighed about twice as much, don't know the brand it has worn off. So After reading all the reviews and seeing that this Pure V Race was on sale I gave it a shot. Two rides on it so far, one without padded shorts and one with. Both rides felt about the same - Very very comfortable, no noticable pressure points. NICE! Thank you WTB!!
This saddle still maintains the race style that I like. It looks stylish but still offers a comfortable feel for the long rides.
