WTB Weirwolf Race Folding Tire

WTB started with Mark Weir's already hugely popular signature tire then added a row of transitional tread. It may seem like a slight addition but these new row of knobbies gives the WeirWolf a positive feel and consistent traction at any lean angle, from moderate to extreme.

  • Tread design improves grip and traction across the board
  • Much lighter than the standard WeirWolf
  • Dense DNA rubber provides unparalleled puncture protection

Newcastle, CA

I had this tire on my SC Bullit. This thing ripped corners and held up really well in the Tahoe granite. Wear was good also. Loads of grip.

Hard pack, Dry type Ripper of a Tire - Apr 16, 2014

1 2 3 4 5

Liberty, MO

The Weirwolf is perhaps the world’s best hard pack tire. On loose surfaces, it leaves a little to be desired, in mud it packs up solid, and is almost dangerous. However, on dry hard pack, there is no tire that hooks up better. I use it in slightly softer conditions, where there is no mud (or very, very little), but the trails are still a bit soft (very ride-able, though), and it still hooks up extremely well. Again, its only caveats are loose conditions (sand), and mud. It brakes very well, rolls really well (no chunkety-chunkety-chunkety like on Nevegals, Butchers, and that ilk). It turns extremely well. It hooks up in corners at just about any lean angle. Many tires have a very, loose and vague feeling at moderate lean angle. They force you “lay it over low” before they hook up. These hook up awesome at those angles, too, but at the in between angles, they still have that same “planted” feeling. Mine are the lighter folding bead, 2.1 “Race” version. They are tubed type of tire I have set up tubeless with a Stan’s kit.

Dirt gripping tires! - Nov 04, 2013

Awesome tires! They just dig into the dirt and grip. Haven't tried them wet however as it doesn't rain here too often. These tires will take you and your bike up hill with no problems and boost your confidence on the way back down with superior grip! Great buy!

These tires have never let me down. Good in loose as well as mud and fast rollers. Would definitely buy again.

Wolf Paws - May 08, 2013

These tires are really great! I've used them in the 2.55" on DH rides are well as 2.1" XC. The have a soft rubber compound that really bites in to whatever conditions your riding in. It is a bit corny but if you look close, they leave a track that resembles a wolf's paw print. This is a very versatile tire!
