Yakima DoubleDown Ace 2 Bike Hitch Mount
The DoubleDown hitch mount comes loaded with SpeedKnob for easy installation and features a tilting mechanism for rear-of-vehicle access, anti-sway cradles so bikes don't contact each other on the ride.
The unit is very solid and sturdy. Never a fear that it was going to fail due to construction or metal fatigue. Where it does fail is 1) the rubber straps used to loop over each tube to secure it will begin to break on you after a year or two. 2) If you have a bike with an odd frame configuration (any full suspension mtn bike, a beach cruiser or a child's frame) this will be a major headache for you. You can figure out a way to mount most frames...but after nearly watching my new full suspension mtn bike nearly blow off the rack two different times on the drive to the trails...I knew it was time for a different type rack. The problem is 1) you can't get most full suspension bikes to sit well and be secured strong enough to hold against the wind resistance and 2) even my tri bike with a Zipp 404/808 wheel combo created enough resistance that it eventually would pop out of the vertical seat tube sway bracket and end up looking like a kite attached to your hitch mounted bike rack.
