I use these as regular shorts, without the liner, as opposed to mountain biking shorts. As regular shorts, the fit is excellent. They hit just above the knee and hit the sweet spot between being slim fitting and being just baggy enough. These shorts are not as baggy as say the new Zoic Ethers, which I also have. The double snap closure buttons on the front add a nice flair to the shorts. The drawstring on the inside of the waistband customizes the fit. Plenty of pockets for wallet (cargo pocket), large cell phone (side media pocket) and keys (front pocket). The only problem with these shorts is that the ripstop nylon pills a lot! After just a few months of wearing them a few times a week, mine started pilling on the sides. That made the shorts look old pretty quickly. I don't know how these would wear if you actually mountained biked in 'em. Zoic should keep making these shorts, but with a material that does not pill as easily.
The outer shell is great. Well constructed and true to sizing chart. I don't have this exact pair but my pair has more pockets that are seam sealed type zipper that have worked great. Good value all the way around. The padded liner is just so/so. I come from a roadie background so accustomed to much better feeling chamois but it is good that the liner is removable...it makes the outer short useable for things other than riding if wanted. The liner gets the job done...but I wouldn't want to spend more than a couple hours riding in them.
