Cane Creek Thudbuster LT 3G Seatpost - Ride Faster, Longer, and Stronger
By adding the Cane Creek Thudbuster rear suspension you'll ride faster, longer, and stronger with better traction, more control, and less fatigue. The performance, relative low weight, and simplicity make it the best suspension upgrade you can make to your hardtail. Based on a patented parallel-linkage design, the Cane Creek Thudbuster LT provides up to 3 inches of active stiction-free travel. Unlike telescoping suspension posts, there is no initial stiction to overcome-the suspension mechanism works in the direct path of the natural travel of the rear wheel. The elastomers provide the compression and rebound damping, and can be easily exchanged to tune the suspension.

Product Questions & Answers |
|

Question: Will the Cane
Creek Thudbuster LT 3G Seatpost work
with an I-Beam Saddle?
Answer: No, an I-Beam
saddle will only work with I-Beam
specific seat posts. The I-Beam
system uses an integrated composite
base and clamping area. The I-Beam
system eliminates popped and bent
rails forever while shedding
weight.
Question: How can I
determine what size Cane Creek
Thudbuster LT 3G Seatpost Fits my
bike?
Answer: You can
determine what size Cane Creek
Thudbuster LT 3G Seatpost fits your
bike by checking your current
seatpost. Most seatpost have the
size stamped into them. Remove your
current post from your bike it
should be stamped near the maximum
height line. If your current post is
not marked check with your frame
manufacturer to determine the proper
size seatpost.
Question: My seat is
really low. Will there be enough
room for the Thudbuster’s suspension
mechanism on my bike?
Answer: The Cane Creek
Thudbuster suspension mechanism
requires at least 140mm from the
saddle rails to the bicycle frame.
This is a reasonable clearance that
almost all riders with a properly
sized frame will have.
Question: I'm pretty tall
and have my seat really high. Will
the Thudbuster’s seatpost be long
enough for me?
Answer: The Thudbuster
seatpost is a standard 380mm long
from the end of the tube to the
center of the saddle clamp where the
saddle rails attach. You will need
at least 100mm inside the bicycle
frame so the maximum height from the
frame to the saddle rails is 280mm
(11 inches).
Question: Can I tune the
Cane Creek Thudbuster LT 3G Seatpost
suspension for my weight?
Answer: Yes. Every Cane
Creek Thudbuster LT 3G Seatpost
includes the complete set (6) of
Double Barrel elastomers. You get 2
soft (gray), 2 medium (Cane Creek
blue), and 2 firm (black)
elastomers. You can mix and match
these elastomers to fit your weight
and riding style.
For starters, Cane Creek
recommends:
Under 120-
140lbs.: two soft (gray/gray)
140-165lbs.: soft/medium (gray/blue)
165-190 lbs.: medium/medium
(blue/blue))
190-215 lbs.: medium/firm
(blue/black))
215-250lbs.: two firm (black/black)
Question:
How do I know what size diameter
Cane Creek Thudbuster LT 3G
Seatpost I should order to fit my
bike?
Answer:
Seatposts come in many different
diameters. To figure out what size
diameter Cane Creek Thudbuster LT 3G
Seatpost you need for your bike
you should first check your current
seatpost. To find out the diameter
of your seatpost, you must remove
the seatpost from the bicycle and
look for the size, which is
generally stamped just below
the “Minimum Insert” line toward the
bottom. The number will be a three
digit number (such as 26.8 or 27.2,
etc.) If you are unable to read the
size or it is not stamped, you will
need to contact the manufacturer of
your frame for the
specifications.
