The Fibonacci Spacer kit has been designed such that any chain line can be achieved within an accuracy of +/-1mm using a kit of as few spacers possible. The clean look and total functionality of the Fibonacci Spacer Kit is unparalleled by any single speed spacer kit coming before it. The kit inlcudes eight precision machined spacers in millimeter width of Fibonacci numbers 1 through 21.

The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the previous two. The sequence is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, etc. Numbers in this sequence are found throughout nature, such as the number of spirals in seed bearing plants like sunflowers and pinecones, as well as in the number of petals on flowers. Additionally, as the series continues, the ratio of two consecutive numbers approaches 1:1.618... which is known as the golden ratio. The golden ratio defines what are often considered the most eye pleasing geometric shapes, which can be found in the construction of the Parthenon, and in the proportions of Leonardo da Vinci's famous study of the human body.

To simplify the kit while ensuring a perfect chainline for any crank, bottom bracket, chainring, and rear hub combination, this series of widths is an absolute guarantee that you will have what you need to set up a perfect chainline. Any width needed can be achieved with three or fewer spacers placed inboard of your cog, guaranteed.

Product Specifications

For a golden chainline:

1. Measure in millimeters (inches times 25.4) the distance from your chain ring to the dead center of the seat tube
2. Subtract this distance from 70mm (~.75") if using a Kick Ass Cog, or subtract from 67mm for a cheap steel cog
3. With the rear wheel in the dropouts and nothing on the free hub body, make a pencil mark on the free hub body exactly the calculated distance in from the inside right hand dropout face
4. Install spacers onto the free hub body up to the pencil mark
5. Install your cog, additional spacers, and the lock ring
6. Go out and ride on the smoothest drive train you have ever felt!
