The On One Inbred 29er Slot Dropout Frame 2007 is On One's newest frame - designed to give optimal performance whatever you want to do, at the best price ever.

Using a custom tooled dropout - these frames allow you to run gears or singlespeed, tuning the wheelbase for tire size or climbing action, running discs without any of the problems often associated with horizontal dropouts and discs, and even fit a rack without having trouble getting it in the way of the brake.

29" bikes run on 29" wheels - that's a 700c rim (common road size), fitted with a big fat tires. The resulting wheel is about 29 inches in outside diameter. There's a bunch of rims, forks, tyres and tubes around to support the new size, though obviously less than standard 26" wheels. The advantages claimed include better traction and stability - it's a bit like running big fat tires on a 26" wheel, but with more of the advantages, and less of the disadvantages.

Key points are:
• Front end geometry optimised for a 4-5" suspension fork. Yes - you can go shorter (80mm is ok), but run the fork harder.

• 3in drop to the top tube means that even the 19.5" frame isn't like some sort of gate.

• Chainstay dimension is to a point midway through the disc mount adjustment, towards the front of the dropout.

• The dropout is designed to run with On One's "chaintug" to stop the wheel pulling forward and allow you to tune the position.

• Comes with full gear routing, but can be run as an SS.

• It's DISC ONLY

• On One use custom butted, hand welded DN6 steel - it's a high spec 4130 tubing, used in either butted, double butted or taper gauge section depending on the tubeset.

• Dropouts are tool pressed from 4130 plate.

• Frame weight for the 18" model is under 5lb.

• BB shell is 68mm wide and English Threaded. To find what length BB axle you need, please ask your crank manufacturer - the chainline needs to be 50mm (normal for HT2 cranks).

• Chainline, again, should be 50mm min. Smaller will mean your chainrings hit the chainstays. On One did this to optimise tire clearance with a nod to modern standards. Yes - they do have less chainring clearance than older Inbreds. But yes - they have more tire clearance and better durability too.
