2009 Fox Forx 32 F-Series RLC With Boss

The Completely redesigned F-Series is the flagship fork for XC racers in the know.

New crowns, steerers and lower legs all add up to a lighter and stiffer cross country weapon. The new chassis features our 15QR lower leg option, a tool free thru axle for fast no-hassle wheel changes and incredible stiffness to weight ratio. Our race proven and improved damping gives riders velcro traction and steering precision while providing seamless transitions from compression to rebound.

New for 2009 is our 32 F-RL Remote model. The bar mounted ergonomic lever makes for quick and fl awless transitions between lockout and open damping modes.

Our 120 mm model is the lightest fork in its class, perfect for longer travel X/C bikes, marathon racers and light duty trail bikes. Look for the new F-Series at the front of the pack.

Cane Creek S-3 Headset

The S-3 headset uses the same design as the S-8, with only minimal concessions. The S-3 houses precision “bearing steel” cartridge bearings. The S-1 shares the overhanging cup/cover design of the S-8, which keeps contaminants from reaching the bearings. This overhanging “treacherous path” feature is repeated with the lower cup/crown race.

    Yes a Star Nut is included with the Cane Creek S-3 Headset.

    What is meant by threaded, threadless, internal, and integrated headsets?

    Answer:
    -Threaded headset cups press directly into the frame. The fork used for threaded headsets is threaded, and a large nut installed on the steerer tube is used to preload the bearings .
    -Threadless headset cups also mount directly into the frame, but a star-nut or similar compression device installed in the fork is used to preload the bearings.
    -Internal headsets are functionally similar to threadless headsets. The main difference is that internal cups press almost completely into the frame. These are often preferred for their low stack height and clean look.
    -Integrated headsets are becoming more and more popular. With integrated headsets, a bearing (usually a sealed cartridge unit) drops directly into the frame eliminating the need for cups. With integrated headsets, it is not necessary to press cups into your frame, but it is important that the headtube be professionally machined to the proper dimensions to ensure smooth operation.
