    QUESTION Since Wipperman chains use a ConneX link, do I still need a chain tool for installation?

    ANSWER: Yes and no. You will need a chain tool to cut the chain to the correct length. The best way to do this is to remove your current chain and use that as a guide for the new one. We suggest laying out the two chains side-by-side to ensure best accuracy.

    Once you’ve cut the chain to the correct length the good news is you’ve done all the hard work. Attaching the chain with the ConneX link requires NO TOOLS as it literally snaps together making the frustration of stiff chain links a thing of the past. And if that wasn’t enough, the ConneX link can be disconnected just as quickly as it snaps together so it’s an absolute cinch to remove your chain for cleaning.
