Convert your vertical drop-out bicycle to a single speed. The Sette single-speed chain tensioner will adjust the tension to keep you and your chain moving along smoothly for miles and miles. It has an easily adjustable in-and-out bolt for proper chain line and mounts on the rear dropout. It's also super light.
I found the Sette single speed chain tensioner very easy to install and adjust. After many miles of riding, I have had no issues at all.
I have only dropped my chain once with this.
Using on a GT Karakoram 3.0...went from 3x9 to a singlespeed setup and needed the tensioner to take up the slack. Works flawlessly. Highly recommended
I have used these on a couple bikes and they work great and I have not had any problems with them. They are great for the price!
I've had two of these now on two different bikes. They work well enough, but there is a lot of lateral play in the mechanism. It means the chain always wants to rub on that little guide around the sprocket. Best for commuter bikes and other recreational road applications in my opinion.
nice and adjustable . but chain will slip if put under severe load ,have it on xcaliber with 32 x18 drive line, chain is as short as possible.might not slip with larger rear sprocket.well made part as far as quality.
Used on a old MTB converted for street use. It has several hundred miles on it without incident. Easy to align on install. Used with Sette SS conversion kit.
I've had this on my 90's Specialized Rock Hopper Single Speed conversion for 2 years now. At my recent wheel true up session, the mechanic commented that he thought it had better tension than 2 or 3 others he had tried. The adjustability made the hard part of the conversion (lining up the chain) pretty easy for me. My bike sits outside year round in Chicago, and after two years, this piece still looks great.
